Climax is one of the leading independent game developers with an outstanding line of top published titles. You will be based out of our new state‑of‑the‑art studio located in the heart of London EC1.

We are seeking an onsite Experienced Character Artist. You will showcase examples of beautifully constructed characters, clean geometry, texture and material work. You will have a number of years’ experience as a Character Artist in the industry with at least one published game to your name. As part of our Character Art team you will utilise your wealth of experience in conceptualising, modelling and texturing to tell stories through beautifully crafted characters.

Requirements

• Showcase creative flare and core fundamentals such as solid topology, UVs and texturing.
• Deep understanding and knowledge in Maya and Zbrush plus a proven foundation in Photoshop.
• Display a portfolio with a wide range of examples demonstrating flexibility and a good eye for form, shape, composition and fun.
• Good working knowledge of Unreal 4/5 as well as experience using Marvelous Designer and/or scan development pipelines is beneficial.
• Experience with Substance Painter.
• Experience with facial blendshapes and wrinkle maps.
• Hair authoring experience – full strand‑based and hair cards.
• Good knowledge of anatomy.
• MetaHuman knowledge.
• Examples of hard surface work.
