Due to significant business growth, we are looking for a Warehouse Operative to join a production and manufacturing organisation based in the Waterlooville area.

As a Warehouse Person, you will be responsible for tasks such as receiving, storing, and dispatching goods, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring the warehouse remains organised and safe. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols. A Full Driving Licence is required for using company vans to pick up and deliver products. A forklift licence is preferred; if expired, it is acceptable.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 09:30 am to 5:30 pm, with breaks. The position offers weekly pay and overtime. A valid driving licence is necessary for local deliveries to companies and suppliers.

The starting salary is GBP 12.70 per hour, increasing to GBP 13.67 per hour after a qualifying period, with the potential to go permanent.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Receiving and Inspecting Goods:

• Unload incoming shipments and verify order accuracy.
• Inspect items for damage and ensure good condition.
• Process receiving paperwork and update inventory records.

1. Picking and Packing:

• Accurately pick items based on orders.
• Pack items securely and label for shipment.
• Prepare orders for dispatch and drive the company van for deliveries and pickups.

1. Inventory Control:

• Manage stock levels with regular inventory counts.
• Track stock movements in management systems.
• Rotate stock and monitor discrepancies.

1. Shipping and Dispatch:

• Organise and load goods for shipment.
• Coordinate with shipping carriers for timely deliveries.
• Complete shipping documentation.

1. Warehouse Maintenance:

• Keep the warehouse clean and safe.
• Ensure goods are stored correctly and labelled.
• Follow FIFO or other stock management practices.

1. Operating Warehouse Equipment:

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment safely.
• Load/unload trucks or containers.
• Perform routine equipment checks.

1. Health and Safety Compliance:

• Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents.
• Report hazards or malfunctions.
• Use PPE as required.

1. Teamwork:

• Collaborate with team members and supervisors.
• Assist in training new staff.
• Communicate effectively across departments.
