Purpose of the Role:

The Health and Safety Advisor will ensure that the company's health, safety, and compliance policies, procedures, and requirements are consistently and effectively applied across operations and support functions, mitigating risks throughout the region.

The Advisor will support the Senior Health and Safety Manager and Head of Health and Safety by conducting investigations (including accidents and incidents), supporting a nominated division, advising on general H&S inquiries, assisting with DSE and fire risk assessments, attending regional meetings, and conducting regular visits to nurseries.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in developing health and safety strategies and action plans aligned with organizational objectives.
2. Support the creation and implementation of safety policies and procedures, including safeguarding, occupational health, and facility management at nursery sites.
3. Conduct audits, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions to enhance safety standards.
4. Provide health and safety advice and support to staff at all levels.
5. Maintain risk assessments, incident reports, and safety records.
6. Collaborate with external bodies to ensure regulatory compliance when necessary.

Essential Experience:

1. NEBOSH General Certificate with relevant IOSH membership.
2. NEBOSH Fire Risk & Management qualification is desirable; strong knowledge in this area is essential.
3. Proven experience managing multi-site health and safety operations.
4. Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
5. Good knowledge of current health and safety legislation.
