Description
The post holder will be responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based, and specialist psychological assessment and support for people dealing with cancer.
You will contribute professional expertise to Maggie’s multidisciplinary team and integrated cancer support programs, aligned with the Clinical and Counselling Psychology Role Expectation Guidelines.
You will also contribute to Maggie’s psychosocial research and work with the Centre Head to develop and promote the support programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead psychological aspects and ensure governance within the centre team.
- Provide specialist psychological assessment and interventions, including individual, couples, family, group work, and psycho-educational formats.
- Apply theoretical and evidence-based practices in program delivery.
- Record and report all work data accurately.
- Supervise staff regarding psychological activities and facilitate staff support meetings.
- Participate in staff and volunteer training and development with the Centre Head.
- Develop and maintain psychological best practices within the centre.
- Evaluate and develop Maggie’s programs collaboratively.
- Manage psychological risks within the centre.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Postgraduate doctoral training in clinical or counselling psychology, eligible for BPS chartered status.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary care teams.
- Experience in teaching, training, and consulting to groups.
- Knowledge of models of psychological wellness, health psychology, and adjustment to illness.
- Skills in research design, audit, and data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills for conveying complex information.
- Project management and IT skills supporting research activities.
