Overview
Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments including developmental history, behavioural and emotional evaluations, diagnostic interviews, and where relevant, liaise with schools and external professionals.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose ADHD and comorbid conditions according to current diagnostic standards (e.g., ICD-11, relevant NHS/UK guidelines).
- Develop individualised treatment plans combining medication management, behavioural or psychological interventions, psychoeducation, and where needed, referrals to therapy or specialist services.
- Monitor patient progress through regular follow-ups, medication reviews, and assess treatment effectiveness and side-effects.
- Provide risk assessments and crisis management when necessary.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of UK ADHD clinical pathways, safeguarding responsibilities and multi-agency working.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited UK or international institution.
- Full UK medical registration (GMC licence to practise) and appropriate licence to prescribe.
- Completion of Psychiatry training with a recognised UK-approved training programme in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Demonstrated experience diagnosing and managing ADHD in children and adolescents within UK healthcare or private practice settings.
