Reporting directly to the consultant clinical psychologist, you will be responsible for the delivery of evidence-based individual and group interventions, facilitation of formulation meetings and supervision of other members of the psychology team. You will form part of a diverse multi-disciplinary team, with opportunities for joint working, family liaison and systemic interventions. You may also be involved in the facilitation of staff reflective practice sessions; nursing team debriefs and the design and delivery of training to the multi-disciplinary team.

Your professional growth is valued and there are numerous career development opportunities on offer. There is an extensive range of courses designed to help you grow and succeed in your career, as well access to external training opportunities to support professional development.

As an Inpatient Psychologist you will be:

  • Monitoring clinical progress through regular reviews of psychological treatment.
  • Support the collection, analysis and interpretation of standardised outcome measures and patient and family care and experience surveys, to inform clinical decision making and service improvement initiatives.
  • Providing high-quality clinical supervision to junior members of the psychology team.
  • Supporting staff development through the provision of training, consultation, formulation meetings and reflective practice sessions.
  • Contributing to service developments within the therapies team and wider service.
  • Receiving regular supervision and line management from the Regional Therapies Lead/Consultant Clinical Psychologist.
  • Being professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care.

  • Knowledge and understanding of eating disorders and related comorbidities (e.g. anxiety, trauma, depression, self-harm), and the impact these on both children and adolescents, and their families.
  • Prior experience in eating disorders is desirable but not essential for this position. Experience working with patients in CAMHS settings or with neurodivergence, trauma and personality disorders is also desirable.
  • Post qualification training in the specialist application of therapeutic models relevant for working with children and adolescents with eating disorders and other comorbidities (or for newly qualified psychologists an interest in undertaking further specialist training).
  • Experience of supervising assistant psychologist or trainee clinical psychologists.
  • Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for patient's psychological care and treatment as a qualified professional within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan.
Where you will be working:

Address: 14-18 New Church Rd, Brighton and Hove, Hove BN3 4FH
