Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated CAD Technician to join our client's growing team, working on a wide range of commercial and domestic glazed projects. This role is open to candidates at junior or senior level, offering excellent career development for those at the start of their CAD journey and autonomy for experienced technicians looking to take ownership of complex projects.

You will be responsible for creating accurate technical drawings and 3D models that support the design, manufacture, and installation of high-quality glazing systems, including windows, doors, facades, partitions, and bespoke glazed features.

1. Produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings for commercial and domestic glazing projects.
2. Translate architectural drawings and specifications into detailed fabrication and installation drawings.
3. Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and fabricators to ensure design intent and technical requirements are met.
4. Assist in design development, identifying potential issues and proposing practical solutions.
5. Maintain and update project documentation, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
6. (For Senior CAD Technicians) Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, reviewing drawings and ensuring quality standards.
7. Ensure all work complies with relevant building regulations, health & safety standards, and project specifications.

Essential (Junior & Senior):

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (knowledge of Revit, SolidWorks, or other CAD packages is an advantage).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawing.
• Ability to interpret architectural/engineering drawings.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• A proactive and problem-solving mindset.

Desirable (Senior):

• Proven experience working within the glazing, construction, or architectural industry.
• Knowledge of structural glazing systems, curtain walling, windows, doors, partitions, and associated materials (aluminium, steel, glass, etc.).
• Familiarity with fabrication and installation processes.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Leadership or mentoring experience.
