We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Project Officer to help Ickworth Estate advance the delivery of selected projects and feasibility work. These initiatives stem from the 10-year master plan currently in development. The projects will focus on buildings conservation and visitor infrastructure.

With a new spatial plan and project pipeline, alongside rapid growth in visitor numbers and an ambitious team, this is an exciting time to contribute to Ickworth’s journey.

You’ll be part of the Trust’s internal consultancy, a flexible resource of specialist skills and expertise. As part of a multidisciplinary team—including curators, fundraisers, building surveyors, and project managers—you’ll collaborate to make things happen.

Your contractual location will be Ickworth Estate, but our hybrid working policy allows you to balance office and home working, with site visits and meetings at various locations. Working at Ickworth offers the chance to enjoy its stunning setting, including the iconic Rotunda and 1,800 acres of gardens and parkland.

There is flexibility in how the working hours are organized across the week.

As a Project Officer at Ickworth, you’ll contribute to projects such as conserving a historic monument and implementing estate-wide seating improvements. Most importantly, you’ll lead feasibility work that will guide the first improvements from our 10-year master plan.

You will collaborate with colleagues at Ickworth, other project managers, and consultants, as well as external partners including local groups and statutory bodies.

• Have experience in planning, coordinating, delivering, and reporting on projects
• Possess relevant experience or interest in this specialist area
• Are an effective listener and communicator, capable of building trust and good working relationships
• Are focused on delivering a brief, with the ability to demonstrate initiative and evaluate options
• Have an eye for detail, good organizational skills, and can work at pace while meeting deadlines
• Possess sound financial and business acumen
