  • Location: Garwnant (Brecon Beacons)
  • Salary: £12.21 per hour
  • Working Hours: Part-time, 24 hours per week
  • Days of Work: 3 out of 7 days
  • 🚘 Transport: Due to the location of this site, applicants must have reliable transport to and from work, preferably their own car and valid license.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Visitor Centre Assistant to join our Garwnant team! Be part of creating special escapes in one of Wales’ most beautiful forest locations, surrounded by rushing rivers and 400 acres of Welsh woodland. Develop your skills while providing outstanding service to our guests, gaze up at exceptionally starry skies in this Dark Sky Reserve, and listen to the cheerful songs of willow warblers.

About the Visitor Centre Assistant Role:

Open all year round, as a Visitor Centre Assistant you play a pivotal role in the hub of our location. This role will be all about the visitor, delivering outstanding customer experience to all our guests on a daily basis.

We are looking for individuals with a real passion for delivering great service with a strong work ethic as delivering exceptional customer service is essential. This role involves reception duties for our visitors, providing guidance and answering queries as well as offering exemplary service throughout their visit.

Key responsibilities include:
  • ➡️ Provide operational support to the facility.
  • ➡️ Ensure all health and safety checks have been completed, potential hazards identified and resolved through our contractors.
  • ➡️ Maintain the brand presentation of the location, completing regular litter picks of area and walk/cycling trails for our visitors.
  • ➡️ Act as liaison and provide knowledge for visitors who aren’t familiar with the visitor centre and local walks, building rapport with the local community who frequently visit the centre.
  • ➡️ Ensure the facilities at the Visitor Centre are functioning correctly and are clean and well presented.

Pay Rates for Aged 16 and 17:
  • 16 years: £7.55 per hour
  • 17 years: £10.00 per hour
