Job description

Do you want to build unique competencies and a rewarding career in one of the fastest growing M&A advisories in Europe?

BearingPoint Capital is seeking Consultants to join our global M&A team in London, specifically within our Technology Due Diligence service.

As part of BearingPoint Capital, you will have the opportunity to fast‑track your career in a start‑up‑like environment within a large organisation, gaining competencies and skills through a wide variety of challenging M&A projects for top‑tier clients. Our client base is rapidly expanding and includes Private Equity firms, family offices, corporates, and strategic investors.

Our M&A service offerings are designed for companies where technology is central to the business strategy and investment thesis. You will join a highly skilled and driven team working on both local and international engagements. We are looking for high‑performing candidates with a passion for technology to support our clients in technology due diligence and tech‑enabled M&A advisory, distinct from corporate finance or valuation work.

About BearingPoint Capital

BearingPoint Capital is a business unit part of the global management consultancy BearingPoint. Capital is a smaller, global team that delivers M&A advisory services on both the sell‑side and buy‑side in transactions. Our service offerings include M&A strategy consulting, commercial and technological due diligence. In addition to M&A advisory, Capital is responsible for managing BearingPoint's own corporate portfolio, as well as our investments in Ventures.

BearingPoint Capital draws on BearingPoint’s global consultancy network – with more than 6,500 employees helping leading companies in more than 75 countries achieve measurable and lasting success.

Your primary tasks will include:
  • Transaction Execution: Collaborate with private equity and corporate clients on both buy‑ and sell‑side engagements to deliver technology due diligence, focusing on IT strategy, architecture, infrastructure, and organisational capabilities.
  • Product Due Diligence: Support the assessment of product strategy, roadmap, and functional/feature differentiation as part of broader due diligence engagements, helping clients understand product maturity (versus competitors) and alignment with business goals.
  • Technology Insight: Develop a deep understanding of IT environments and key drivers of operational excellence to support technology‑focused due diligence projects.
  • Project Management: Support Managers and Senior Management by taking on project management responsibilities across M&A engagements.
  • End‑to‑End Engagement Delivery: Contribute to the design, planning, and execution of M&A projects, including pre‑deal (e.g. technology due diligence, carve‑out planning), post‑deal (e.g. integration/separation), and value creation initiatives (e.g. cost optimisation).
  • Workstream Ownership: Where appropriate, take ownership of workstreams within cross‑functional project teams across the technology practice, supporting engagement managers.
  • Global Collaboration: Be flexible and available to support global teams on projects that broaden your commercial and technology expertise.
  • Client Interaction: Organise and participate in client meetings, assisting with the preparation and delivery of pitches, RFPs, RFIs, and other client‑facing materials.
  • Strategic Contribution: Support the development and execution of BearingPoint’s firm‑wide M&A strategy, with a focus on technology‑related initiatives.
  • Beyond Due Diligence: Gain exposure to broader M&A technology advisory work, including carve‑out and integration support beyond the due diligence phase.
Are you looking to work in an intellectually stimulating and fast‑paced environment, and have the following characteristics and background?
  • 2‑3 years of relevant and related work experience in an M&A advisor or consulting environment.
  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree preferably in computer science with an outstanding academic record from leading universities.
  • A good understanding of information technology including software architectural principles, IT infrastructure, SDLC is required.
  • Good command of English language, with experience of delivering high‑quality reports and presentations, written and spoken.
  • Demonstrated interest in the intersection between M&A, strategy and technology.
  • Ability to present confidently to clients and senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Fluency in English (European languages desirable).
  • Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
For the right candidate, we can offer:
  • Exciting career prospects with possibilities to learn and grow as fast as you can handle.
  • Exposure to the development and execution of our firm‑wide M&A strategy, including venture investments.
  • Exposure to both our technology due diligence and advisory (commercial due diligence) work streams.
  • Collaboration with top‑tier clients, including leading Private Equity firms, family offices and strategic investors.
  • Highly competent and down to earth colleagues.
  • An informal and “easy to work with” culture.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
  • Office in Central London.
Our application process:

Upload your CV, cover letter and academic records from upper secondary school and higher education in our system. We review applications continuously and qualified candidates will be invited to interviews as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we do not sponsor work visas in the UK for this role.
