The Life Cycle segment within Aker Solutions specializes in managing, executing, and delivering small, medium, and large complex projects from feasibility studies, frame agreements, and EPCI.
Life Cycle UK is supporting a 3-year Frame Agreement primarily for Maintenance and Modification at Equinor’s offshore platforms including Heidrun, Njord A and B, Asgard A and B, Troll A, B, and C, Heimdal, and Johan Sverdrup in the North Sea Norwegian sector, as well as the onshore facility at Tjeldbergodden (Norway). We are looking for engineering and design discipline Project personnel to join us.
We are seeking a Senior Piping Designer to join our team based in Aberdeen (AIBP).
What will you be doing?
- Carrying out engineering design tasks ensuring technical quality and safety integrity, performed in a highly competent and efficient manner.
- Preparing project deliverables according to Aker Solutions procedures, systems, and tools.
- Developing discipline deliverables for input to studies and project estimation.
- Design development of new/replacement pipe systems using 3D modelling tools, laser scan data, and offshore surveys.
- Contributing to discipline deliverables for onshore prefab and offshore installation.
- Ensuring delivery according to schedule, within budget, and in accordance with QA/QC procedures.
- Liaising with client project and facilities engineering to develop and execute modification project scopes for piping.
We think you should have:
- HNC/HND degree in piping or similar with solid experience in front-end studies, FEED, and/or EPCI projects in the energy sector.
- Experience as a Piping Designer in at least one FEED, E&P, or EPC project.
- Ability to input and manage pipe information in 3D models (E3D/PDMS or Navisworks).
- Proficiency in making and checking 2D drawings in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
- Ability to manage and plan your work scope independently.
- Hardworking, conscientious, and able to work on your own initiative.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Strong work ethics and proactive attitude.
- Solution-oriented with the ability to meet customer expectations.
- Accurate, flexible, and organized approach.
- Knowledge of Norwegian regulations and standards is preferred but not essential.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid structure with regular office visits.
- Willingness to develop competency in Aker Solutions systems & tools and integrate with the core project team.
- Experience with Equinor Frame Agreements, projects, systems, and tools is a plus.
