Role

Youth Worker - Classroom Manager (Preston Secondary School) – a proactive and experienced Youth Worker to join our secondary school in Preston. This is an exciting and non-traditional role that combines the skills of a youth worker with the structure of a classroom environment. You will be responsible for managing a class of students, ensuring a positive and productive atmosphere that fosters engagement, confidence, and positive behaviour.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise classes, ensuring a structured and supportive learning environment.
  • Utilise youth work principles to address behavioural challenges and promote well-being.
  • Work with students to build social and emotional skills, and improve their readiness to learn.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support student progress and attendance.
  • Serve as a mentor and positive role model for students.
  • Contribute to the school's overall ethos of creating a safe and inclusive community.
What We're Looking For
  • Essential Experience: You must have demonstrable experience as a Youth Worker or in a similar role, specifically with young people aged 11-16.
