Job summary

A support service provider is looking for a self-motivated individual to fill a live-in position in the East Midlands, primarily around Peterborough and Leicester. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Offer personalised support and safeguarding to young people.
  • Accompany young people to appointments.
  • Promote physical and emotional wellbeing of service users.
  • Support access to social activities and making positive choices.
  • Manage challenging behaviours presented by young people.
  • Work in partnership with social workers and external agencies.
  • Adhere to organisational policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends per rota.
  • Carry out housekeeping duties to maintain a safe environment.

Job description

This is a live-in position requiring a self-motivated candidate to accompany, support and promote the wellbeing of young people (16-21 yrs) living in a supported accommodation provision. Place of work is Peterborough and/or Leicester. This is a live-in role as defined by HMRC as unmeasured work. Pay Minimum £850p/w pro rata.

Responsibilities
  • Offering personalised support and safeguarding young people to develop needed life skills including cooking, budgeting, healthy living, access education/training/employment etc.
  • Accompany young people to appointments
  • Promote the physical and emotional wellbeing of the service user
  • Support the young person to access social activities as well as making right choices
  • Understand and manage challenging behaviours that young people may present
  • Working in partnership with social workers and other external agencies (CAMHS, GP, Youth Offending service, etc.)
  • Adhering to organisational policies and procedures
  • Willing to work nights and weekends per rota including Live-in for minimum 4 days per week (subject to your availability and needs of the service).
  • Carry out house‑keeping duties (cleaning, etc.) to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Qualifications

Candidates with minimum level 3 NVQ in Social Care or Equivalent. Must possess level 3 in functional skills (ICT, Literacy and Numeracy) and be willing to learn. Employment offer subject to Enhanced DBS / Police check and satisfactory references.
