Year R Teaching Assistant - SEN Support

Primary School, Cosham

Start Date: January

We are looking to appoint a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to work in our Year R (Reception) class at our primary school in Cosham, starting in January.

The role involves supporting a small number of children with Special Educational Needs within the Reception classroom. You will work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to help provide a nurturing, structured and inclusive learning environment, supporting children with their learning, communication, social development and independence.

Successful candidate will:
  • Have experience working with young children, ideally in an EYFS or Reception setting
  • Have experience supporting children with SEN (desirable but not essential)
  • Be patient, calm and nurturing
  • Be able to support children with routines, learning activities and play-based learning
  • Work well as part of a team and take direction from teaching staff

This is a rewarding role suited to someone who enjoys working with young children and helping them thrive in their first years of school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
