Overview

Year 5 Teaching Assistant – £90 - £105 per day, North Birmingham

Our client based in Shard End is looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic NVQ Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant at a two form entry Primary school. You must have at least 12 months of experience working within a primary school setting and have the desire to make a difference within the classroom.

Responsibilities
  • Support pupils in Year 5 to access learning and make progress across the primary curriculum.
  • Assist class teachers with planning, preparation and delivery of lessons as required.
  • Support safeguarding and promote the welfare of pupils in line with school policy.
  • Adapt support to meet individual pupil needs and learning styles.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to support pupil outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills
  • NVQ level 2 or 3
  • A minimum of 1 year experience as a Teaching Assistant within a primary setting
  • Good oral, written and numeracy skills
  • High expectations of all children
  • The ability to enthuse and inspire children
  • A commitment to improving outcomes for all children
  • Understanding about how children learn and progress
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Willingness to go the extra mile

The role starts October 2025 and will be ongoing for the right candidate.
