Primary Teacher (Maternity Cover - Year 3/4) - Stockport

A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher to join a warm and welcoming one-form entry primary school in Stockport from after October half term, covering a maternity leave position. This role will see the successful candidate leading a mixed Year 3/4 class within a nurturing and vibrant school community.

With an average number of SEND pupils and a significant proportion of EAL learners, staff work closely together to ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a mixed Year 3/4 class with full whole-class teaching responsibilities.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with age-related expectations, adapting teaching to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
  • Support pupils with SEND and EHCPs through differentiated instruction and close collaboration with support staff.
  • Work effectively with teaching assistants and other classroom staff to ensure smooth delivery of lessons and support interventions.
  • Use a range of formative and summative assessment strategies to monitor pupil progress, using data to inform planning and re-teaching where necessary.
  • Employ effective questioning techniques to stimulate curiosity, deepen understanding, and promote independent thinking.
  • Embrace school life by actively participating in events, routines, and the wider school community.
