Yard Operative / Forklift Driver - East Kilbride

The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative / Forklift Driver on behalf of one of our clients based in East Kilbride.

The Role

As a Yard Operative / Forklift Driver, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the yard.

Main Responsibilities

• Operate a Counterbalance Forklift to safely load and unload plant equipment
• Prepare, clean, and maintain equipment, including use of pressure washers where required
• Carry out stock checks and maintain accurate stock records
• Inspect, store, and stack equipment safely to company standards
• Complete regular equipment checks and report any issues or discrepancies
• Support the wider depot team to ensure smooth daily operations
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment

What We're Looking For

• Previous yard or warehouse experience (preferred)
• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential)
• Full, clean UK driving licence (essential)
• Physically fit, able to lift and move heavy objects
• Strong attention to detail and focus on safety
• A team player with a flexible, proactive approach

Working Conditions & Hours

• Yard-based role with regular outdoor work
• Frequent manual handling, lifting, and bending required
• May occasionally involve working at heights
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:30 (1-hour break, 42.5 hours per week)
• Rate of Pay: £12.41 - £12.60 per hour
