Qualifications

  • Previous transport or supervisory experience is desirable.
  • HGV C+E licence desirable (or willingness to train and pass during probation).
  • Strong communication skills – confident with both people and paperwork.
  • IT skills, with ability to use Excel and reporting tools.
  • Proactive, safety-first mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.

About the role

As our Yard Coordinator, you\'ll play a vital role in keeping our transport operation running smoothly. You\'ll be the go-to person for managing the safe movement of vehicles in and around the yard, coordinating returning vehicles onto routes, and ensuring site rules are always followed.

Your day will be varied — from debriefing drivers and maintaining accurate records, to liaising with third-party repairers, supporting with admin tasks, and occasionally carrying out deliveries in Class 1 or 2 vehicles.

What you’ll be doing
  • Safely coordinate and move vehicles around the yard (including coupling/uncoupling trailers)
  • Debrief drivers, input data, and keep accurate transport records
  • Ensure health & safety and site rules are always followed by colleagues and visitors
  • Allocate vehicles to the correct runs, supporting efficiency across the operation
  • Liaise with security, drivers, and third-party repairers to keep everything on track
  • Provide admin support and assist the Transport Team with day-to-day operations
  • Step in to support deliveries and vehicle transfers when required
