A local educational institution seeks a Wrap Around Care Assistant to support children at Blakedown CE Primary School. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to lead activities for children before and after school. Ideal candidates will have experience in a school setting and demonstrate patience, empathy, and a commitment to safeguarding. This position offers a warm, supportive environment with opportunities for professional development. Additional holiday club work may be available during summer.
Scale 1 point 2,£5,102.19 per annum
9 hours a week, Tuesday-Thursday 2.30-5.30 p.m.
The governors are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and organised candidate to help support our busy and thriving Busy Bee Wrap Around Care provision at Blakedown CE Primary School. The enthusiastic and dedicated candidate must be passionate about working with children. Previous experience of working with children in a school setting is desirable, and candidates must demonstrate patience and empathy and the ability to remain calm under pressure, as well as relating to children and ensuring they are provided with a range of enjoyable experiences during their time before and after school.
The successful candidate will work as part of a team of dedicated staff to prepare food and provide a safe and stimulating environment, supporting and encouraging creative and imaginative play activities. The ideal candidate is somebody with the right qualities who is keen to learn, who will engage and inspire children through extra-curricular activities and learning outside the classroom and uphold the ethos and values of the school.
The successful candidate may also be required to be involved in a future holiday club over two weeks in the summer break, which would be an extension to the established term time provision and offer additional paid work.
You will have:
Excellent communication skills; an understanding of safeguarding; behaviour management experience; ability to lead all activities planned and suggest activities in the provision.
