Job summary

A recruitment agency is looking for a Wood Cutter to work on the outskirts of Ashford. The role includes using saws to cut wood, with the potential for training in other areas. Applicants should be comfortable with physical work and have previous experience in manual roles. A counterbalance forklift license is desirable. Job description

Overview

Job Title: Wood Cutter (counterbalance forklift desirable)

Location: Outskirts of Ashford (must drive due to location)

Contract: Temporary to permanent

Salary: £12.28 + overtime available paid at higher rates

Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am-5:45pm, finishing at 4:15pm on Fridays

Responsibilities

• As a Wood Cutter, you will be responsible for using saws and machinery to cut reject pieces of wood, to be reused in the assembly process.
• Should you have a forklift licence, you will move product around the yard.
• Due to the size of the business, you will have the opportunity to be trained in other areas, such as assembly.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Comfortable with physical, manual work. Must be able to lift up to 25kg.
• Must have previous experience using handheld tools, assembly, production, woodwork or labouring.
• Safety boots and hi-vis attire will be required for this role.
• Counterbalance forklift desirable.
