Job description

Our client is a specialist Safety and Environmental Consultancy based in Bristol, with customers throughout the UK. The Team is primarily made up of ex Forces and MoD personnel, together with people who have a safety and environmental consultancy background.

They have achieved considerable growth over the last two years, and are now looking for a senior safety engineer / consultant, with specialist knowledge in explosive / facility safety or Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives (WOME) safety to head up and grow this area of thebusiness.

The ideal candidate will have a defence and/or consultancy background with several years’ relevant experience providing technical support and/or engineering management in this specialist area.

A good understanding of safety management within these technical areas, and familiarity with the requirements of DSA03-OME and Def-Stan 00-56 is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with the development of explosives equipment and facility safety management programmes
  • Develop and produce Safety Cases
  • Conduct hazard identification, HAZOP and SWIFT analysis, risk assessment and hazard sentencing
  • Develop and implement Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Safety Management Plans (SMP)
  • Engage in business development and client liaison activities
  • Organise, prepare and attend client meetings
  • Draft technical reports and input data into customer software systems
  • Ensure compliance and implementation of work in accordance with the Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001)
  • Participate in Business Development and Marketing activities to further develop our customer base and technical capabilities

This role is a permanent position but you can work from home or one of our clients southern office locations.

Due to the nature of work undertaken by our client, incumbents of these positions are required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK Security Vetting to SC Level
