WHSCT Ward Sister / Charge Nurse Band 7 Ward 3

The post holder will be responsible for effective management of the department and be accountable for providing leadership to the nursing team to: Ensure safe and effective care and practice. Enhance the patients/clients experience. Contribute to the delivery of the organisations objectives. Provide effective management of Ward 3/Elective care/ENT.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring the standards of care and practice are maintained, reviewed and continuously developed in line with DHSSPS, Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), HSC Trust Policies, procedures & guidance.
  • Ensuring that agreed professional and managerial standards, objectives and statutory requirements are met.
  • Provide leadership, clinical expertise, and ensuring the delivery of evidence-based and person centred care.
  • Manage the Department budget ensuring effective and efficient use of physical, human and financial resources.
  • The professional development and line management of the nursing team.
  • Creating an environment in which effective learning can take place.
  • Co-ordinating the involvement of the multidisciplinary team, where appropriate.
Skills and Qualifications
  • A Level 1 Registered Nurse (Adult) on the live NMC Register.
  • Have a Nursing Degree and 3 years post-registration experience within an Acute care setting. OR Have 5 years post-registration experience as a band 5 including 3 years within an Acute care setting.
  • OR Have 5 years post registration experience which must include a minimum of 2 years at band 6 within an Acute care setting.

Salary: £46,148 - £52,809 per annum
