Job summary

A leading healthcare provider is looking to appoint a full-time Consultant Plastic Surgeon specialising in soft tissue reconstruction and trauma, based at Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield. Job Summary

We are looking to appoint a full‑time Consultant Plastic Surgeon specialising in soft tissue reconstruction (including breast reconstruction) and trauma, based at Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield.

Responsibilities
  • Provide and develop the breast reconstruction service in collaboration with oncoplastic surgeons.
  • Support the trauma service at the Northern General site, handling general plastic trauma, burns, and semi‑elective conditions.
  • Participate in general plastic and reconstructive work, including skin cancer, across all consultant surgeons in the team.
  • Serve on a trauma on‑call rota (1:18) covering Northern General, Royal Hallamshire, and Sheffield Children’s Hospital, maintaining patient responsibility and departmental functioning.
Qualifications
  • Registered with the GMC, holding a valid licence to practice.
  • Completed Specialist Training (or equivalent) and entered on the Specialist Register, or holding a CCT date within six months of interview.
  • Ability to work full‑time; candidates unable to work full‑time may be considered with suitable adjustments.
