Job summary

A leading engineering and maintenance provider in Bristol is seeking a Welding Coordinator to support the Senior Welding Engineer in coordinating welding procedures, conducting reviews, and evaluating technologies. Responsibilities include managing welder qualifications and performing other technical duties. This position requires strong attention to detail and knowledge of welding processes.

Welding Coordinator Role

The Welding Coordinator supports the Senior Welding Engineer in tasks related to ISO14731, including:

  1. Coordination of WPQRs, including procurement, machining, technique development, PWHT, and mechanical testing.
  2. Assisting in the compilation of pWPSs and welding data packages.
  3. Supporting technical reviews and repair investigations.
  4. Reviewing filler metal certificates and process procedures.
  5. Reviewing subcontractor procedures and post-weld heat treatment processes.
  6. Assessing welding equipment suitability and preparing weld repair methodologies.
  7. Researching and implementing new welding technologies and processes.
  8. Providing technical input to the welding team.
  9. Coordinating production test coupons, welder qualifications, and site tests.
  10. Managing and validating welder qualification certificates.
  11. Evaluating materials and troubleshooting design or work pack issues.
  12. Performing additional duties as assigned by the Senior Welding Engineer.
  13. Preparing weld cards.
