Job description

The business growth has created a need for another web developer with core focus on .Net projects. The primary purpose of this role is to undertake website and systems development of the company websites and internal systems. The successful candidate will be competent in all areas of web development, including (but not limited to) an appreciation for design, best practices, latest web trends / standards and accessibility. The role involves developing new features for the company's websites and admin systems, as well as regular maintenance and upkeep of existing systems. An additional requirement of this role will be to help support the IT infrastructure of the business. This includes dealing with software and hardware issues, creation of staff user and email accounts, resolving any IT issues in a timely manner and be responsible for maintaining computers, printers and the company telephone system. The candidate will work alongside an established team of two web developers in the marketing team,

Responsibilities
  • Carry out development of new features to the company's websites, internal systems and APIs
  • Upkeep and maintenance of the company's bespoke CMS
  • Act as a technical liaison for all members of staff and respond to any IT issues raised throughout the business
  • Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable code
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality and responsiveness of applications
  • Integrate data storage solutions
  • Identify bottlenecks, bugs and resolve
  • Assist with the upkeep and maintenance of company servers and telephony system
  • Provide assistance/advice in any ad hoc IT projects
  • Actively contribute ideas to the marketing strategy of the company, Hours: Basic working hours will be between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, although the candidate will be expected to work as necessary to meet deadlines
    Web technical & programming degree preferred, with other professional programming/dev qualifications with a commitment to skill development a distinct plus.
Qualifications

Experience The ideal candidates would need to have 5+ years' experience of website building, maintenance, testing for .NET platforms. Ideally these should be retail and B2C facing, Other platform experience very advantageous as the company websites are built on a mix of platforms which are all bespoke. Consistency and weight of traffic growth are likely to require an evolution of sites.
