The Role

We are looking for a Legal Cashier / Finance Assistant to support our finance function. You will work as part of the team to ensure smooth financial operations and compliance with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) rules. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with good attention to detail and a proactive approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Processing client and office account transactions in line with SRA Accounts Rules
  • Monitoring and allocating daily client funds, including CHAPS, BACS and Faster Payments
  • Handling billing, receipts, payments, and bank reconciliations
  • Supporting credit control and accounts payable
  • Posting expenses such as fees and travel costs
  • Handling Infotrack and Land Registry invoices
  • Preparing and maintaining financial records with accuracy
  • Assisting with VAT returns and supporting year-end processes
  • Performing general administrative duties including filing and record maintenance
  • Providing general finance administration support to the team
About You
  • Previous experience as a legal cashier or in a finance/accounts role
  • Law firm experience preferred but not essential
  • Understanding of SRA Accounts Rules (preferred, training can be provided)
  • Good Excel and IT skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines
  • Proactive, reliable, and a good communicator
