Our client is an industry-leading water management company known for providing water treatment/hygiene and legionella services to clients throughout the UK. They are currently recruiting for an experienced, multi-skilled and committed Water Treatment Engineer/Plumber based in and around the Chelmsford area. The successful candidate will be experienced in carrying out routine water treatment duties including cleaning and chlorination on hot and cold water systems and cooling towers, as well as basic remedial plumbing duties. Applications will be considered from Colchester, Southend‑on‑Sea, Harlow, Ilford and the surrounding areas.

Experience

• Extensive experience working as a Water Treatment Engineer within the water treatment industry.
• Hands‑on experience carrying out remedial plumbing to a mixed portfolio of sites.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing would be advantageous.
• Fully conversant with Health & Safety procedures/legislation and the water treatment industry.
• Ideally comes from a strong chemical, technical and educational background.
• Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Package.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Duties

• Carrying out cleaning and chlorination on hot and cold‑water systems, boilers, cooling towers, shower heads and flushing.
• Descaling and disinfection, tank cleans and dosing.
• Temperature monitoring, routine sampling, analysing water systems and interpreting results.
• Planned preventive maintenance on all dosing equipment as required.
• Completing worksheets for work carried out appropriately.
• Building and maintaining a good rapport with the company’s mixed portfolio of clients.
• Collating and providing accurate reports.
• Visiting sites as per client’s requirements.

The successful post‑holder will be versatile, flexible and have a strong work ethic, with the ability to carry out work effectively within timelines; they must also be flexible regarding travel.
