Job Description

Our client is a leading water hygiene company that delivers professional water treatment, hygiene and legionella duties to a varied client base. The company is recruiting an experienced and committed Water Hygiene Engineer to work in and around the York area. The successful postholder will have extensive experience carrying out water hygiene duties such as routine temperature monitoring, cleaning/chlorination of hot and cold water systems and TMV servicing. Previous experience in remedial plumbing will also be beneficial. Consideration will be given to applicants from Malton, Boroughbridge, Tadcaster and the surrounding areas.

Essential Experience & Qualifications
  • Strong educational background in water hygiene, legionella, chemicals and technical subjects.
  • Full competence with ACOP L8 guidelines.
  • Hands‑on experience delivering water hygiene duties across a varied site base.
  • Experience undertaking remedial plumbing duties (beneficial).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Duties within the role
  • Carry out disinfection of mains water systems, tank cleans and descales, replacement of tanks, remedial work, flushing systems, and water softeners.
  • Monitor client air and water systems to ensure compliance with current Health and Safety legislation.
  • Perform on‑site analysis and dosing of closed systems.
  • Carry out cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold‑water systems and cooling towers.
  • Monitor temperature, conduct routine sampling and analyse water systems.
  • Maintain and install dosing systems.
  • Submit accurate paperwork, including reports.
  • Build and maintain a good rapport with clients.
  • Carry out remedial plumbing work as required.
