Warehouse & Logistics Manager

£40,000 to £45,000 plus benefits

Our client based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire are looking for an experienced Warehouse & Logistics Manager to join them on a full time, permanent basis.

As a Warehouse & Logistics Manager you will hold a crucial role in overseeing both the warehouse and the goods in & out operations. Your primary objective is to ensure the safe and efficient storage of customer goods and the seamless movement of materials into, within and out of the facility.

Key Responsibilities for the Warehouse & Logistics Manager
  • Warehouse & Logistics Operations: Oversee and lead the warehouse & logistics operation, including managing a team of skilled operators and operatives, and equipment.
  • Quality Control: Enforce quality control measures to safeguard the integrity of stored goods, conducting regular quality checks.
  • Goods storage: Supervise the storage of customer goods, maintaining organisation and inventory accuracy.
  • Inventory Control: Implement inventory management systems to track stock levels, prevent shortages, and maintain accurate records.
  • Order fulfilment: Coordinate the picking of customer orders, ensuring accurate and on-time deliveries.
  • Goods in and out: Oversee the goods in and out operations, managing the efficient receipt of materials and the timely dispatch of finished products.
  • Transportation Coordination: Coordinate transportation services.
  • Resource Management: Manage transportation equipment and personnel to optimise logistics efficiency.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Coordinate cleaning and maintenance tasks for machinery to ensure proper functioning and minimise downtime.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain stock levels of finishing supplies and materials to prevent shortages.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all site operations, to provide effective support and supervision where needed.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor Warehouse & Logistics and cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Performance Management: Evaluate the performance of the Warehouse & Logistics operation and cross-functional teams, providing feedback, coaching, and development opportunities.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise within the Warehouse & Logistics operation and other areas of the site, ensuring collaborative and constructive relationships are maintained with all employees.
Skills/Experience Required for the Warehouse & Logistics Manager
  • Proven experience in warehouse and logistics management or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and inspire teams.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work harmoniously within a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures in a warehouse and logistics environment.
  • Flexibility towards working hours.
