Job Overview

A part‑time (33 hours) maternity cover opportunity for a Ward Clerk primarily based in Haematology. The role ensures all reception processes are carried out in a timely and accurate manner to support an efficient reception and quality service to all users.

Responsibilities
  • Interactive with the General Public, Nursing, Medical staff and other Trust Administrative and Clerical Staff.
  • Assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
  • Speak face to face or over the telephone to deal with patient needs, including booking appointments.
  • Use and access Patient Centre and attend patients on reception desks.
  • Book appointments for patients as and when required.
  • Deal with enquiries of a sensitive nature.
  • Attend departmental meetings as and when required.
  • Access Patient Administration System to accurately record and collect patient data, ensuring errors are identified and corrected including patient demographics.
  • Coordinate clinic prep and various admin tasks to support running of clinical activity.
