Overview

Every day, you'll help create memorable moments for visitors from all over the world, whether they're discovering the Cathedral's rich heritage, attending a service, or enjoying concerts, exhibitions and special events. This full-time role combines front‑line engagement at the Welcome Desk with administrative and operational responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead by example in delivering a high‑quality welcome to everyone who comes through our doors
  • Proactively encourage visitor donations, meeting agreed targets
  • Ensure the Cathedral looks its best by maintaining presentation standards across the floor
  • Assist with ticketing, merchandise sales, and front‑of‑house operations for Cathedral events
  • Lead on event setup for tours, lectures, and hospitality activities
  • Manage online visitor enquiries and reviews
Qualifications

You're a hands‑on organiser who takes pride in creating a welcoming experience for everyone. You'll have:

  • Confidence in engaging with a wide range of visitors
  • Experience in a public‑facing role, ideally within a heritage, cultural, religious, or visitor attraction setting

Position Details
  • Full‑time: 35 hours per week (to be split between Welcome Desk, administrative and operational duties)
  • Fixed term: 24 months
  • Salary: £27,000 p/a
  • Worth noting: This role will require regular weekend working, periodic evening working, and a flexible approach to working hours at busy times.
