Overview

Inspiration Trust are seeking to appoint a Visiting Music Teacher with a Brass specialism. This is a casual contract with variable hours (around 10.5 hours per week on average). Start date: January 2026. The successful applicant will plan and deliver high-quality instrumental/vocal teaching within multiple Academies across the Trust and will facilitate co-curricular musical opportunities. Some work will occur outside of school hours for rehearsals, performances and exams.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality instrumental/vocal teaching across multiple Academies within the Trust.
  • Facilitate co-curricular musical opportunities and lead ensemble activities (choirs, ensembles, performance opportunities).
  • Contribute to school music provision during school hours and participate in rehearsals, performances and exams as required outside of school hours.
  • Collaborate with nationally recognised practitioners and access high-quality CPD opportunities.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Grade 8 or above in a primary study instrument (or demonstrable skill level equivalent).
  • Grade 5 music theory or above (or demonstrable skill level equivalent).
  • Valid driving license.
  • Experience teaching a range of ages, from primary to secondary pupils.
  • Experience leading and assisting with ensemble activities (choirs, ensembles, performance opportunities).
