Location: Raheny Veterinary Hospital | Dublin

Contract: Full-time | Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)

Salary: Up to €60,000 DOE + Excellent Company Benefits

We are currently seeking an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join the dedicated team at Raheny Veterinary Hospital on a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled vet to join a well-established, forward-thinking practice and contribute to the ongoing delivery of high-quality veterinary care in North Dublin.

This role is ideal for a confident clinician who thrives in a busy, team oriented environment. You'll work alongside a collaborative group of veterinary professionals and have access to an impressive array of diagnostic and surgical equipment.

Role Overview

  • Contract Type: Full-time, Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)
  • Start Date: End of September / Start of October 2025
  • Working Patterns: 39 hours per week, with 1 in 3 weekends
  • No OOH or On-Call Duties
  • Salary: Up to €60,000 depending on experience


  • This position is best suited to veterinary surgeon with prior experience in first opinion practice. Unfortunately, it is not suitable for new graduates or those requiring mentorship.

  • We are a supportive and collaborative team of 9 Vets, 8 Veterinary Nurses, 2 Animal Care Assistants, and 9 support staff. We take pride in fostering a positive work environment that promotes continuous learning, clinical excellence, and genuine care for our patients and their families.

    Requirements - What We're Looking For

  • VCI registered Veterinary Surgeon available to start late September or early October 2025
  • Experienced in small animal practice - all levels of experience considered (not suitable for new graduates)
  • Confident in both medical and surgical cases
  • Strong team player with a patient centred approach to care
