Vehicle Technician
Location: Luton Airport
Salary: £40,000 - £42,714.31 per annum (depending on experience)
Shifts: 4 on 4 off, 5:30am - 5:30pm

Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic — Are you looking for a new and rewarding technical challenge? If you have experience in the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles, plant equipment, or HGVs, we want to hear from you!

Our client, a market leader in Ground Service Equipment repair and maintenance, is seeking a skilled and qualified Vehicle Technician to join their dedicated team at Luton Airport. To be considered you must have City & Guilds Level 3 Motor Mechanics (or equivalent) — this is essential.

Responsibilities
  • In this varied Workshop and Airside position, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of aircraft service equipment, including towing tractors, aircraft tugs, baggage elevators, and specialist/unique vehicles.
  • Your strong mechanical skills and problem-solving ability will be key to diagnosing and repairing faults, as well as maintaining equipment to the highest standard.
  • This is a fantastic opportunity for a light vehicle technician looking to step into the exciting world of GSE.
Key details
  • Initial induction and training: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5:30pm
  • Competitive salary with progression based on experience and upskilling
  • Standard GSE Technician responsibilities apply
The Person
  • Experience working on light vehicles, HGVs, or plant equipment
  • City & Guilds Level 3 Motor Mechanics (or equivalent) – essential
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • No more than 4 job changes in the past 5 years (required for airside pass clearance)
  • It would be advantageous if you also have experience with bus, plant, or HGV vehicles.

  • Proof of Right to Work in the UK
  • Ability to obtain an airsite pass (requires criminal record check and 5-year employment/education history verification)
  • Certificates for all relevant qualifications
