Vehicle Technician / Automotive Mechanic - Romford

Are you a skilled Vehicle Technician / Automotive Mechanic looking for your next step? Our client — a busy, successful main dealer in Romford — is growing and they're on the lookout for a confident, experienced Technician to join their aftersales team. Whether you've been working as a Mechanic, Service Technician, Diagnostic Technician or within a prestige workshop environment, this role offers genuine progression with routes into Workshop Controller, Assistant Manager and Garage Manager positions.

Salary: £30,000 - £50,000 DOE plus bonus

Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 6pm

Saturday (1 in 4) 8am - 3pm

What you'll be doing (and doing brilliantly)
  • Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs to the highest manufacturer standards
  • Working efficiently to manufacturer-set timings to maintain productivity
  • Completing accurate diagnostic reports and documenting work carried out
  • Keeping your work area clean, safe and organised
  • Communicating clearly and professionally with colleagues and customers
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction stays front and centre
  • Supporting and mentoring other Technicians as required
  • Developing towards Assistant Manager responsibilities
What we're looking for
  • NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience in a prestige dealership or similar environment
  • Strong technical skills and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent customer service standards
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of your output
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • High Voltage (EV/Hybrid) trained preferred
  • Motivated, target-driven, and adaptable within a busy workshop
