Job summary

A leading defense and engineering company is seeking a Vehicle Mechanic to ensure the operational readiness of vehicles supporting the UK's armed forces. You will maintain, repair, and enhance a diverse range of equipment. The ideal candidate has NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance, experience with military vehicles preferred, and a strong commitment to safety. This full-time role is based in Rutland, with opportunities for overtime and career development.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance.
  • Experience with military vehicles or specialist equipment preferred.
  • Proven experience in vehicle diagnostics, inspection, and repair.
  • Background in a dealership, garage, or military vehicle maintenance required.
  • Strong commitment to safety and precision.
  • Enthusiasm for continuous learning and development.
  • Ability to obtain BPSS and SC security clearance.

Location and Schedule

At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. If you join us, you can play your part as a Vehicle Mechanic at Donnington or Cottesmore, near Telford, Shropshire or Oakham, Rutland. This is a full-time, permanent role based at either Donnington or Cottesmore. You'll work 37 hours per week: Monday - Thursday (8 hours/day) and Friday (5 hours), with opportunities for overtime.

Additional Requirements

The successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.
