ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Butler Rose Northern Practice Division is delighted to be working with a highly regarded independent accountancy and business advisory firm who are recruiting for a VAT & Indirect Tax Manager to join their growing tax consultancy team. With a strong presence across the UK, this firm is known for its supportive and inclusive work culture, placing a high value on the professional development of its employees. The successful candidate will have the chance to work across a range of exciting VAT advisory projects, with a focus on both advisory and planning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in delivering complex VAT advisory projects alongside the Senior Manager, managing your own portfolio of clients
  • Proactively identify new planning and advisory opportunities from your client base
  • Stay updated on changes in tax legislation, case law, and guidance that affect VAT and indirect tax, and assess their impact on client businesses
  • Manage projects effectively, ensuring deadlines are met and that both time and budget expectations are adhered to
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, business partners, and intermediaries to raise the firm's profile in the market
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager to identify and develop business development opportunities within the VAT and indirect tax space.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

The firm is looking for a highly motivated individual who can drive growth in their VAT advisory services.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in VAT advisory, with a proven track record of working across a variety of sectors
  • Strong technical knowledge of VAT and indirect taxes, with the ability to advise on complex matters
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to manage your workload effectively and help guide more junior team members
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike
  • A proactive approach, with a keen eye for spotting new opportunities and developing them further.
