Job Title: Variations & Projects Manager
Location: Royal Stoke Hospital and Haywood Hospital
Salary: £56,704.47 + Bonus
Holidays: 23 days rising to 26 after 3 years
Hours: 40 hours / Monday to Friday, 8am till 4:30pm

We’re looking for a motivated Variations & Projects Manager to lead and manage all healthcare estates project works, focusing on rechargeable value works and driving revenue growth. You’ll ensure compliance with all legal, statutory, and contractual requirements while delivering high-quality, cost-effective services. Working closely with Commercial, Finance, and Soft Services teams, you’ll oversee project performance, report to senior management, and support innovation and operational excellence. You’ll also provide technical guidance and manage your team following Sodexo’s policies.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and manage all variation and capital project works onsite, ensuring safety, compliance, and quality control in line with Sodexo’s frameworks and regulations.
  • Collaborate with senior management on forecasting, delivering project plans, and maintaining statutory, contractual, and organizational compliance.
  • Oversee specialist subcontractors’ performance, safety, and commercial management, ensuring cost-effective and quality project delivery.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, clinical and non-clinical staff, and internal teams to support seamless project and maintenance activities.
  • Act as an authorized and competent person for specified systems, ensuring continuous site-wide coverage and compliance.
  • Utilize IT systems (CAFM, BMS, Maximo) for monitoring, reporting, and managing project and maintenance data effectively.
  • Provide detailed risk, opportunity, and status reporting to senior leadership, enhancing project processes and addressing inefficiencies.
  • Develop and implement strategic estates project plans, manage asset lifecycles, ensure competitive pricing, and support defect reporting and cost management.
What You Bring
  • Project Management Degree or Masters
  • Experience in construction / maintenance environment
  • Proven experience of Project Management
  • HTM awareness
  • Sound knowledge of the CDM Regulations
  • CAD or similar programme knowledge
  • Knowledge of Legionella prevention and management
  • Knowledge of Energy Management
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety
  • Building Management System Knowledge
  • Ability to keep focus on day-to-day performance whilst simultaneously pursuing longer-term opportunities
  • Experienced in managing budgets and project finance
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Prepared to undertake standby rota
  • Must be computer literate with knowledge in Excel, Word, Power point, MS Project
  • Ability to demonstrate a good aptitude for problem solving using logical approach
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety regulations
Desirable
  • Completion of C&G / BTEC or equivalent in building trades and recognised certified apprenticeship
  • BSR/BSA regulations understanding
  • Supply chain management
  • Previous experience of PFI Hard FM Contracts
