Glasgow
Full-Time
The research data specialist role at the DCC is designed for individuals with diverse backgrounds, skills, and knowledge to engage in all areas of the DCC's activities. These activities include:
Initially, approximately 60% of your time will be dedicated to the FAIR project, a major H2020-funded consortium involving the DCC. The remaining time will depend on your expertise and interests, as well as ongoing projects. The role offers varied consultancy and training opportunities, providing scope for skill and knowledge development.
We value candidates with experience in research or data-related environments, whether in the public or private sector, across sciences, arts, humanities, engineering, medicine, or other fields. You should have experience in data management and reuse, along with an understanding of open research principles and FAIR data. While you may not be an expert in all areas, a willingness to learn and broaden your expertise is essential.
The role requires flexibility due to changing work demands and collaboration with diverse teams worldwide. You should be comfortable working independently and collaboratively, providing examples of teamwork during interviews.
The DCC operates as a collaborative consortium with staff based at the Universities of Edinburgh and Glasgow. The successful candidate will be employed by the University of Glasgow but will work across both institutions. International travel may be required once pandemic restrictions ease, and flexibility to work across different time zones is important. Currently, remote working is supported, and applicants from anywhere are encouraged to apply.
