Are you an experienced engineer ready to take ownership of critical site utilities and keep a complex industrial environment running smoothly? We're looking for a Utilities Engineer to support and maintain key systems across a large engineering/manufacturing site.

Reporting directly to the Boiler House Manager, you'll play a vital role in the maintenance, operation, and continuous improvement of mechanical and building services systems. It's a hands‑on position where no two days are the same – from boiler house duties to HVAC and fire system maintenance.

A BOAS certification is desirable but not essential – if you don't have it, you'll receive full support to obtain it. Participation in the call‑out rota will be required.

What you'll be doing:
  • Ensuring continuity of utilities supply across the site
  • Day‑to‑day operation and maintenance of the boiler house
  • Servicing and repairing fire suppression systems
  • Maintaining HVAC and steam systems
  • Supporting compressed air system upkeep
  • Delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Carrying out installations, remedial works, and urgent reactive repairs
  • Conducting general mechanical repairs
  • Participating in the boiler house call‑out rota
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations
What you'll bring:

Essential:

  • C&G NVQ Level 2 engineering‑based qualification
  • At least 3 years' experience in an industrial or commercial environment
  • Experience working with HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of fire suppression systems

Desirable:

  • BOAS Cert IBO
  • IPAF and PASMA
  • Boiler house operation
  • Asbestos awareness
  • L8 awareness
  • Experience using a CAFM/CMMS system
You'll thrive in this role if you:
  • Communicate clearly and confidently
  • Are organised and able to manage tasks effectively
  • Are comfortable using computer‑based systems
  • Can interpret and follow technical drawings
  • Enjoy solving problems in a dynamic environment
Why join?
  • Work in a highly skilled engineering environment
  • Develop specialist knowledge (with funded BOAS training if needed)
  • Be part of a supportive and experienced facilities team
  • Contribute directly to the safe and efficient running of a major manufacturing site
