Salary range: £41,580 - £55,710 per annum. Salary negotiable depending upon experience.

Work location: Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, SW1E 6QP

Hours per week: 36

Contract type: Temporary up to 24 months

Responsibilities
  • Join the new Customer Experience Directorate to create visually stunning, user-centric digital interfaces for council products and services.
  • Deliver functional and engaging user interface solutions that translate user needs and research insights into development-ready assets.
  • Prioritise accessibility, inclusivity and customer experience; support the delivery of fast, consistent and scalable digital services.
  • Conduct usability testing, wireframe development, UX improvements and ensure brand consistency.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders to deliver user-focused outcomes.
Qualifications and experience
  • An established professional with a proven track record of designing user interfaces for web and mobile platforms, ideally within complex or regulated environments.
  • Experience across the full product lifecycle—from discovery to prototyping, testing to delivery.
  • Strong visual design skills and experience using Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Miro, Jira and Confluence.
  • Deep understanding of responsive design, interaction patterns and cross-device consistency.
  • Knowledge of UX principles, user research methods and service design thinking.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and analytical skills; a passion for developing inclusive solutions that reflect diverse communities.
