Overview

An opportunity has arisen to join us as a Used Car Sales Manager at our Epsom site. The main purpose of the position is to assist the General Sales Manager in managing the Used Car Sales business, incorporating all the Company's products and services and making decisions regarding the sales unit. To achieve optimal utilisation of the market, a high level of customer satisfaction and high yields for the department in accordance with the Company management goals.

Responsibilities
  • Review the financial situation and compile the daily operating controls (DOC).
  • Review retained profit and F&I performance.
  • Take responsibility for lead allocation.
  • Ensure walk-ins are recorded on showroom log and Dealerweb and review live leads on Dealerweb.
  • Review volume of leads and offers made.
  • Work with General Sales Manager to review conversions of sales people and implement plans where required. Take steps to increase market penetration in Used sales, in order to achieve budget. Plan, organise, direct, coach, lead and motivate the Used Sales Team taking steps to create a professional and customer focussed environment.
  • To lead, develop and maintain an effective relationship with the Retail Managers and Assistant Sales Managers to jointly deliver the site unit targets.
  • Ensure the Used vehicle range is presented professionally in line with Mercedes-Benz guidelines.
  • To control preparations costs and standards by working closely with the After Sales Manager.
  • Ensure all leads are responded to with Sandown SLA.
  • Ensure that all potential part exchanges are appraised in line with the company procedure, regularly spot checking the quality of appraisal.
  • Ensure that Part exchange valuations are in line with market trends.
  • Respond promptly to any customer complaints and ensure timely and correct resolution.
  • Continually review vehicle debtors to ensure Company policy on vehicle debts is applied.
  • Ensure that the Retail Managers and Assistant Sales Managers team completes all Sales Executive 121's, assisting where appropriate.
  • Ensure sales training needs are met efficiently and are in line with operational requirements.

Permitted activities include advising on and arranging general insurance contracts and acting as a credit broker not a lender.
  • We can introduce you to a limited number of finance providers. We do not charge a fee for our Consumer Credit services. We do not act as a financial adviser, or fiduciary. We act in our own interest, whichever lender we introduction you to, we will typically receive commission from them based on either a fixed fee or a fixed percentage of the amount you borrow. Any and all commission amounts will be fully disclosed to you as part of your sales journey. You will be required to give your fully informed consent to our receipt of this commission. By doing this, you acknowledge that you understand our role as a credit broker, and that we will receive a financial incentive if you take out a loan from a lender that we introduce you to.
Requirements
  • A high level of attention to detail; a passion for customer satisfaction; FCA accredited; knowledge of finance and related systems; knowledge of insurance products; understanding of car valuations and advanced negotiation skills; experience in a management position.
Working hours
  • The showroom is open from 8.00 - 18.30 Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00 Saturday and 10:00 - 16:00 Sunday. A 5 day week will be worked which will include Saturdays. A lieu day will be given off in the week to compensate. Total 45 hours per week. Company Car provided as part of the remuneration package.
