Real Recruitment is delighted to support our client – a global insurance provider, to recruit a Construction & Engineering Insurance Underwriter for their UK team. This is a full-time, permanent, Remote working position based in the Lancashire or Yorkshire region ideally.

About The Role of Construction & Engineering Insurance Underwriter

You will join a small, high performing team dedicated to the Construction and Engineering portfolio, where you will be responsible for delivering a profitable underwriting service to clients while working within agreed strategies and underwriting limits. You will manage risk exposure, provide support on claims, and build strong relationships with brokers and clients.

• Developing and maintaining the Construction & Engineering portfolio in conjunction with Business Development Managers.
• Performing account analysis according to underwriting guidelines, reviewing submissions, assessing risk exposures, and completing underwriting / pricing worksheets.
• Maintaining orderly underwriting files in accordance with company guidelines.
• Reviewing loss control reports and managing policy endorsement requests.
• Supporting claims processes and providing input on settlements where needed.
• Attending client / broker meetings, industry conferences, and seminars to maintain market awareness.
• Providing technical support to the wider business functions or third-party intermediaries as required.

What You Will Bring

• You will ideally be based in the North West / Manchester region
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Construction & Engineering underwriting.
• Technical knowledge and expertise in Construction & Engineering insurance.
• Highly computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office; Salesforce experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and networking skills to maintain broker and client relationships.
• Ability to work under limited supervision while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
