Under Pressure Drilling Craftsperson

£37,882 to £42,338 plus up to 6% bonus, overtime, standby allowance, and access to a pool/liveried vehicle

Warrington – This role requires you to be on site 5 days a week. Some travel to other sites across the UK (including overnight stays) will also be required.

About the role

We're currently seeking a skilled Under Pressure Drilling Craftsperson to join our team, supporting critical infrastructure projects across the Gas and Oil & Gas sectors. This role involves hands‑on mechanical work in high‑stakes environments, contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of essential services.

What you’ll be doing
  • Hot tapping, Stopple ALH, wax cutting, and Kleiss bag‑off operations.
  • Supporting complex under pressure drilling works safely and efficiently.
  • Working alongside industry‑leading experts on projects that matter.

You’ll also contribute to maintaining National Gas Services (NGS) operational plant and equipment to the highest standards, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety requirements.

You’ll also play a key role in promoting safety and operational excellence by:

  • Leading Toolbox Talks (TBTs).
  • Ensuring team understanding of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Collaborating with site teams to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.

In addition to this, you'll participate in a standby rota once fully trained.

About you

You’ll be a proactive and safety‑conscious professional who thrives in dynamic environments. You'll bring a collaborative mindset and the ability to work well in a team, strong communication and leadership skills and a commitment to high standards of safety and quality. You'll also have the confidence to lead by example and support others in understanding safety protocols.

Key requirements & experience
  • Proven experience in Gas or Oil & Gas environments
  • Hands‑on expertise in the listed mechanical techniques
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and RAMS interpretation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Working knowledge of CDM regulations - desirable
  • Full UK car driving licence
Security clearance
