Job summary

A leading social enterprise in the UK is seeking a dedicated Functional Skills & Additional Learning Support Tutor to support apprentice learners with Maths and English. You will provide tailored learning support, ensure compliance with Ofsted standards, and work in a hybrid model. Qualifications

More about your role

Do you have a passion for helping learners achieve their full potential? We're looking for a dedicated Functional Skills & Additional Learning Support Tutor to support our apprentice learners with Maths, English, and additional learning needs, ensuring compliance with Ofsted standards and funding requirements.

You will provide tailored learning support that ensures inclusive, accessible, and differentiated provision for every learner. You'll play a key role in supporting progression through diagnostic assessments, personalised training plans, and close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders. This role also requires maintaining compliance with funding, quality, and audit standards, ensuring all learners receive the support they need to succeed.

The role will involve a mix of working from home and travelling to various sites to deliver training, you will be required to visit our Derby Training centre once a week.

More about you

The Essential Criteria for this role is listed below:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (or equivalent teaching qualification) plus at least L2 in Maths and English
  • Assessor qualification e.g. D32/33, A or CAVA
  • Prior experience and the relevant qualifications to teach Entry to L2 Maths and English against Ofsted standards for our apprentice learners
  • Understanding of DfE funding rules and compliance requirements, including flexibilities for learners aged 19+, under 18, and those with learning difficulties
  • Certification in neurodiversity awareness, support, training or similar
  • Experience in maintaining and updating Training Plans and Additional Learning Support Plans, ensuring accuracy and alignment with learner goals.
  • Knowledge of neurodiverse learning needs, including dyslexia, ADHD, and dyscalculia, and experience providing differentiated support, aligned with Ofsted inclusion standards.

The Desirable criteria:

  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as BKSB and Cognassist to assess learner starting points and support requirements.
  • Ability to design inclusive and accessible learning resources that reflect age-appropriate content and support learner aspirations.
  • Previous experience of working in adult education such as apprenticeships
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly PowerPoint to create engaging learning resources
