There is an exciting opportunity to consider a First on call tier, Trust Grade Post in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the South Tees NHS Foundation Trust. This is suitable for a resident doctor with a future career aspiration in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

The clinical role and responsibility will be at the first on-call tier level in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with an on-call commitment and frequency of 1 in 9.

This will include attending outpatient clinics, antenatal and gynaecology wards, reviewing patients in outlier wards, maternity triage, antenatal and postnatal care, and contributing to the management of acute emergencies in obstetrics and gynaecology.

Main duties of the job

Core Functions:

  1. Contribute to the clinical rota in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, at first on- call tier level.
  2. Attend outpatient clinics, ward review, and maternity triage.
  3. Attend and contribute towards clinical care, on call as per 1 in 9 frequency, LTFT 60%
  4. Ensure consistent engagement with the Horus e-portfolio and accrue work-based assessments to demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills.
  5. Comply with mandatory training and CNST/CQC requirements. Comply with patient safety requirements as set by the Trust

The James Cook University hospital is one of Europe\'s most modern hospitals, The James Cook University site is the largest of its type and has a wide range of specialities. This hospital was opened in October 2003 and has a capacity of 1,007 beds. Based on the original site of South Cleveland Hospital, all acute and elective medical and surgical specialties are accommodated. Tertiary services, in addition to cardiology and cardiac surgery, include renal medicine/haemodialysis, neurosurgery, vascular surgery and the regional spinal injuries unit.

This site contains a modern central operating suite containing nineteen well-equipped theatres, with two recovery areas. This is immediately adjacent to an Adult Surgical Day Unit containing a further three theatres and to the Paediatric Day Unit. The sixteen bedded general ICU is across the corridor. Two additional theatres for obstetrics are in the Central Delivery Suite and two more in the Ophthalmology Day Unit.
