Job summary

A leading housing association in Greater London is seeking a Treasury Accountant to oversee Treasury accounting functions. This role includes leading reporting cycles, managing audits, and providing expert advice on Treasury products. The ideal candidate will be ACCA qualified or a finalist, with strong analytical skills and experience in Treasury accounting. Salary: From £47,135 per annum (London weighted salary), dependant on experience and qualification status

Grade: 9-10 dependant on qualification status

Where you fit in

You’ll report to the Treasury Manager (Operations) and work in a matrix reporting structure with the wider Treasury team, collaborating across Finance and with internal and external stakeholders to deliver L&Q's strategic objectives.

Your impact in the role

Lead on Treasury accounting aspects of reporting cycles, including statutory accounts and regulatory reporting. Project manage audits of debt instruments and programmes, coordinating information and obtaining appropriate approvals. Provide technical accounting advice on new Treasury products and transactions. Support budgeting and forecasting, including preparing journals, variance analysis and commentary. Maintain audit‑ready records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Main Duties
  • Lead on Treasury accounting aspects of reporting cycles, including statutory accounts and regulatory reporting.
  • Project manage audits of debt instruments and programmes, coordinating information and obtaining appropriate approvals.
  • Provide technical accounting advice on new Treasury products and transactions.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting, including preparing journals, variance analysis and commentary.
  • Maintain audit‑ready records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Internal: Finance colleagues and wider Group stakeholders.
  • External: Lenders, Auditors and other professional advisors.

Essential
  • ACCA (or equivalent) Qualified Accountant or Finalist (registered and expected to complete finals within 6 months).
  • Practical experience in Treasury accounting, management reporting, and year‑end audits.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Treasury and Finance systems.
Desirable
  • Experience in a property business or housing association environment.
  • Familiarity with Salmon and Unit4 systems.
  • Experience in coaching and providing training.
