Job description
Overview

Transport Planning Manager role based in Sheffield. Salary: GBP38,500pa. Working hours: Monday to Friday, and Monday to Saturday (rotating) 3am–12 noon. Early finishes available when work is completed.

The Role

We’re recruiting on behalf of our Client for a Transport Planning Manager to join their Sheffield-based operation. This is a key operational role working closely with both the Warehouse team and a fleet of Delivery Drivers. Your day will begin early by assisting the Night Picking Team, ensuring orders are correct and ready to go. You’ll then be responsible for planning and coordinating up to 16 delivery routes covering areas from Birmingham to Newcastle. While the Warehouse Management System handles most of the route planning, your job is to keep things moving by organising, motivating, and supporting the driving team. You’ll need to be comfortable getting hands-on in the warehouse or stepping into a van if needed, so a full driving licence is essential.

Expect the busiest hours to be between 3am and 6.30am, after which the pace eases off. It’s a role that rewards early risers with strong organisational flair and a cool head under pressure.

What We’re Looking For
  • Previous transport planning or logistics coordination experience
  • Strong knowledge of UK geography and route planning
  • A team player who’s willing to roll their sleeves up
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A full UK driving licence (van driving experience preferred)
The Benefits
  • GBP38,500pa salary
  • 28 days holiday (incl. bank holidays)
  • Flexible working hours considered
  • Supportive team and family-run culture
  • Long-term, stable opportunity with career growth potential
Why Join?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business where you’ll be valued for your input and become an integral part of the day-to-day operation. If you’re ready for an early start, enjoy working as part of a friendly team, and want a role with real responsibility, this could be the perfect next step.
