Overview

Our client are a well established (over 40 years) UK Transport, Haulage and Pallet Distribution business based in Wakefield , West Yorkshire

Due to gowth they are recruiting for a General Haulage Transport Planner to work as part of small close team within a growing family business.

Responsibilities
  • Work alongside the transport manager with a focus on next day to 3 day planning for a fleet of 20 wagons including a large number of tramper drivers.
  • Daily interaction with customers via email and telephone for live bookings and pricing negotiation as part of the role.
  • Some compliance duties with CPC qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Geographic knowledge of the UK and its road networks, along with the ability to price loads accordingly, is highly desirable.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience within general haulage is required; salary is influenced by experience and qualification.
  • CPC qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to price loads.
Salary and Benefits
  • £30-35,000 base salary depending on experience.
  • 28 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays).
  • Peoples Pension.
  • Around 8.5 hours per day, start and finish time depending on operation but typically 6am - 6pm.
