Transport Planner - Permanent Role near Spalding

Are you an organised problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Our client, based close to Spalding, is looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join their small but dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring deliveries are planned, booked, and completed on time — keeping things running smoothly for customers across the UK.

Hours & Shift Pattern
  • 5 days out of 7 (to include one weekend day)
  • Monday - Thursday: 9am - 7pm
  • Sunday: 10am - 8pm
  • Flexibility is essential

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning routes and booking transport for various loads
  • Ensuring deliveries are collected and arrive on time in line with customer expectations
  • Analysing carrier invoices and checking delivery paperwork
  • Liaising with drivers, carriers, and internal colleagues
  • Managing queries and problem-solving in real time
  • Maintaining accurate records using the company database
  • Supporting the Carrier Manager with additional transport activity as required
What we're looking for
  • Previous experience in transport planning / transport admin preferred
  • Knowledge of logistics and scheduling desirable
  • Strong organisational skills with great attention to detail
  • Confident communicator - both by phone and email
  • Able to prioritise, multi-task, and work under pressure
  • IT literate - strong Outlook and Excel skills are essential
  • A proactive, team-focused approach
